Ah Kids..

A friend of mine posted a picture of his kid covered in baby powder.  Well him, his bed, the pillows... you get the idea.  Its funny to see this since most parents have a story about their kids destroying stuff.

I think that one gift you get when you have a kid is "Parent Spidey-vision."  Its the ability to tell when your kids are up to no good, even when you just checked on them two seconds ago.  Its when its gets just a little too quiet and you know a disaster is about to befall your household.

Miss B had her "incident" about six months after Bucket was born.  She managed to get ahold of a tube of butt paste during a "nap".  Though I suppose you should call it B destroys a set of bedsheets in 5 minutes rather than "nap."  She mangaed to not only get it open but to squeeze out the entire contents onto her and her bed.  It wouldn't have been so bad but she decided to use it as a shampoo/body scrub.  It was one of the hardest substances I have ever encountered to get out of that kids hair.  That stuff stuck like glue, we ended up having to get special medical shampoo from a lady at daycare in order to finally get it all out. Fun times.

Bucket had his incident about a week ago.  I came upstairs to find him with a tube of cortisone. (You would have think we would have learned about keeping anything in tubes in the kid's bedroom after B's incident. I guess we just aren't that smart.) I had thought it wasn't a full tube since I couldn't find to much on him or his sheets.  Low and behold a day later we got to open their bedroom window and find it.  He had used the ointment to "wash" the window for us.  It was better than what Kira did, but still.

Ah the joys of kids!

I love my germ factories... no really I do.

I love fact that when a new cold comes through daycare either me or K is bound to pick it up.  This time it got all four of us.  The kids both have runny noses.  Which if you have had to deal with its fun considering the two year old has no frickin clue how to blow his nose.  Yay.  K and I both got massive colds.  I actually had to stay home from work this week cause I could barely function let alone drive into work.  It looks like K may have to head to the doc as he has noticed it moving into his chest.  Oh fun.  Gotta love the germy little ones.

I wish that I had pictures of the garden for an update, but alas the weather is being quite bitchy.  Its hard to get outside when it does nothing but thunderstorm and pour rain on everything.  At least we missed the tornadoes that came through the state last night.  That was fun getting to watch every 10 min on TV last night.  Really do you need to keep interrupting my shows with that.  I know your just doing your job but sheesh.

I did however take note that I have a few tomatoes now on the bushes and quite a few sugar snap peas ready for harvesting.  I tasted one and it was heavenly.  So crisp and sweet.  I think I may have to plant them again next year.

I Need A Bigger Bed

Its hard sometimes when you have small children to get a full nights sleep.  Its one of the few things that I truly miss from being a non-parent.

Bucket decided last night to come downstairs and refuse to go back to his bed.  I have a hard time making either kid go sleep in their beds when its 4:30AM and I'm exhausted.  So naturally I just let him climb into bed with us.  This would be fine if either of my kids stayed in one place while they slept.  I told K this morning I can't decide which kid is harder to sleep with.  Miss B who moves around everywhere and will eventually take up half of the king bed with us crammed together on the other half or Damian who doesn't move as much but will poke you to see if you are awake yet.  He knows better than to talk to me but that doesn't stop him from trying to get me to look at him.  He has learned that if I do that I will usually get up and go watch cartoons with him.

Really I think this is all practice for the next few nights.  He is terrified of thunder and we are due to get storms all weekend.  Somehow I don't think I'm catching up on my sleep this weekend!

On a side note.  K told me that I can extend the flower beds in the front of the house.  I'm super excited as I would rather weed more garden space than mow all that grass.

I Love My Garden

Its always great when I can start pulling things out of the garden.  This year we have a lot going on in a space that really shouldn't have that much.  Oh well.  I really like throwing things together and seeing what happens.  This is the first year that my front and side beds are really starting to fill out.  Its hard for me to get full looking beds as I'm always adding new things and moving stuff around.  Last year I didn't move to much since most of it was rather new and that did pay off this year.
The lilies really came out in full force and are stunning.  I don't remember them being this pretty last year.
The daisies took off and went a little nuts.  This plant is about 3 years old and really peaked this year.  It is just covered in buds
Last year I planted a raspberry bush.  It didn't do much as the sunflowers I planted over grew and shaded it.  I was worried that I had killed the poor little thing since it was barely a twig at the end of the season.  I left it alone in hope that it was just playing dead.  Turns out it was just biding its time.
I'm already seeing baby raspberries.
If you look closely at the big bush picture you can see the strawberries along the bottom.  That all is one plant that I made last year.  The plants are just covered in berries all waiting to be eaten.  Most don't make it into the house as the kids both like them warm and right off the plant.

The row of cucumbers that I planted are all doing well.  These are lemon ones.  The row of regular ones all died for some odd reason.  I think it may be due to me letting Miss B do the planting on that row.  Oh well at least she's out there helping me.
Small pepper plants.  I think that the broccoli and the cauliflower are over shadowing them to much.  Hopefully they will get a little bigger and I start seeing blooms on them.  One of them is a spicy cherry pepper plant.  I can't remember which one it is, so I'm hoping they both bloom.
Baby tomatoes!  I'm always excited when I start seeing these.  I planted a few different varieties this year.  The only one that didn't make it was the yellow jellybean, a type of grape tomato.  For some reason it refused to grow.  I also have three "wild" tomato plants.  The came up in the area of the bed that I planted them in last year.  I'm leaving them alone in hopes that I get fruit off of them.

I have a ton of other plants in those beds as well but I wasn't able to get good pictures out of them.  There pumpkins, squash, watermelons, and okra are all doing well.  None of them look like much, but I'm please with their growth so far.  I also have peas, beans, beets, and carrots interspersed with the other plants.  Like I said before I may have over done it.  It will be nice this year to be able to eat out of the garden instead of the supermarket.  I may even try canning some of it if I have enough!

Happy New Year

I love the beginning of a year.  Everything is new and fresh.  Its a whole year to make new memories.  To watch the kids get learn new things and get bigger.  To travel and see old friends, to meet new ones.  Time to make resolutions.

I try to make changes through out the year but do make big ones on New Years.  This year the big thing is to try to get out of debt.  We really need to stop relying on credit for stuff.  So both K and I are going to try hard to save and get the debt down.

We have big plans for this year a trip out to Virginia, one to Hilton Head, NC, at least one to Ohio.  Kira will start preschool in the fall so I have to get used to the idea that she is going to be a "school-ager."  There will be babies born for friends and marriages as well.

All in all it looks like 2010 will be a good year for us!

Now I Really Feel Like a Mother...

We have had some great weather lately.  I can't believe that its been so warm and its November.  The weather was nice enough this weekend that we were able to get outside with the kids and get the yard work done.  We are trying to get it all finished before it starts snowing.  We managed to get half of the leaves burned and the garage clean out.  It will be nice being able to park in the garage again.  I was starting to worry that I would end up scraping snow this year.

The kids had a great time helping with the yard.  I think the highlight for them was getting to have lunch outside.  Since we had the burn pile going we couldn't all go inside for lunch since someone had to stay out and watch it.  So I took it all outside and we had a picnic.  It was great, strange to be sitting outside with short sleeves and no coats but fun none the less.

The real highlight this weekend though wasn't the nice weather it was getting to call the local Poison Control center.  I don't think you can call yourself a parent  if your kids haven't been to the ER and you haven't had to call PC at least once.

We had bowling early last night so that meant that we had to pick up the babysitter rather then her getting dropped off.  Kevin went to get her while I finished up dinner for the kids.  They were messing around in the bathroom and I yelled for them to come out and that's when I heard D gagging.  I go look and he has my deodorant in his hands and there is a huge bite taken out of it.  Great.  So I look at the label and it does recommend doctor or PC if ingested.  It turns out that kids can eat small amounts and the worst it will do is cause them to vomit.  I guess that was the good news.  Thankfully he doesn't seem any worse for wear from the episode.  Guess this means we need to remove the step stool from the bathroom so they can't get stuff off of the counter.

Halloween

It really is going to be Christmas before I know it.

So Halloween has come and gone. Kira went as a princess this year and Damian was Captain Kirk.  We did a theme with Joy  and Oren went as Spock.  The boys were adorable together and Kira was super cute.  The best was that I actually made her costume.  That dress is the first piece of clothing I have ever made.  I think it turned out great.

This year we went trick or treating twice.  We were supposed to go three times but the rain kept us from the Family Halloween Night in Nevada.  The first time we went it was to Night Eyes at the Blank Park Zoo.  This is a great way for the little ones to get dressed up and still have fun during the day.   Basically you go around the zoo and at each animal area a group sponsors a tent and hands out candy.  The kids had a blast getting to walk around and see the animals.  The candy was just a big bonus to them.  The highlight though was getting to see the snow leopard.  Typically we only go during the summer and its just to hot out for the leopard, so you either don't get to see him or you just get to see a part of him on his platform snoozing.  This time he was walking infront of the cage.  The kids could have stayed there the whole time if we would have let them.

The second time that we went was for Beggar's Night in Ankeny.  They do this usually the night before Halloween and then the kids don't go out on Halloween itself.  Its a lot of fun as the kids are suppose to tell jokes or do a trick.  We tried to get Kira to say a few jokes but she would not do it.  The only downside was that it was really cold and it rained for the first 20 minutes or so.  We only took the boys to a few houses before it just got to be to much for them.  Kira toughed it out and we went around to her bucket was mostly full.  By that time her little hands were bright red so we made the decision to take her back to Joy's even though she wanted to keep going. Once we were inside where it was warm she did relent that she was       really cold.  All of the kids ate way to much candy that night and were bouncing off of the walls till the wee hours of the morning!

Orlando

What happened to September. I swear all I did was blink and its gone. Its not like we did that much as the only thing that we had planned was our trip to Florida.

We took our annual trip with my parents and Joy's family last month. This year we went back to Orlando. It was a blast with way to much food and sun. At least this year no one got burnt, just a little pink. The big thing that we did was Sea World and Gatorland. Both kids had a great time at both. They both had their favorites, D really like all the sharks and the fish and for Kira it was the penguins and the dolphins that she seem to really like. We came home with a ton of new stuffed animals for them, but it was a blast.

The resort that we stayed at was great. All of the kids liked the pool as it had a huge kids area. All of us adults liked the pool cause it had a bar with really yummy drinks! The resort also had a really nice indoor play area for the kids which we utilized a few times. They pretty much had it to themselves and the staff even looked the other way with us going in it to retrive the little ones. I tried out the slide and I really think that they greased it. It was some of the slickest plastic I've slid down!

Dad was super excited to see that they had an arcade. We all got in on it and played games a few nights. The fun thing was they had Guitar Hero. Now other than Mom and Dad, none of us had played it before. Turns out that it's a blast, so when we got back both us and Joy went out and bought it. The fun thing is you can set it to beginner and Kira can play too. She's not half bad either!

The whole trip was a great vacation, but Kira gave us one of the great stories that will be told for years to come. On the flight down we had a set of three and a single seat. I took the kids and sat in the three together. Now D had his car seat so he had to sit next to the window so I put Kira on the aisle so that I could easily reach both of them. The problem with this is she would not stop putting her legs into the aisle. No amount of me telling her to stop was working, so being creative I told her that the attendant with the cart would take her foot off if she kept doing it. She looked at me trying to figure out if I was kidding or not and I said it again. She got this really funny look on her face while it sunk it what I said and she turned to me and replied, " What a bitch!" Umm.... I would like to say that I was the great parent and corrected her with a stern warning about not saying bad words, but no I'm not that parent. I totally lost it. I was laughing so hard that I couldn't explain to everyone what she had just said. Needless to say when I finally could talk, everyone laughed just as hard as I did. Ah memories.

A strange rambling post in which I catch up on life...

Time always seems to get away from me. It seemed like summer was just starting and now all of the leaves are starting to turn. Even though we really haven't done much this summer it seems like it was super busy. I guess with the kids and trying to get stuff done around the house it seems that way.

We've been working on the mud room on the house all summer and its finally getting finished. New walls, floor, and ceiling. With all of the setbacks we had I'm surprised that its going to be done before we leave for vacation but it will be nice. One more weekend and it should be finished as we just have to hang trim and a fan. Then I just have to start looking for a new bench to go in there but that can wait for a while. It will be nice to actually use it as a mud room and leave all of the wet and dirty shoes and stuff out there this winter.

Its been a strange summer on that we lost both a cat and a dog within a few month period. Its kinda of strange being down to just one dog and no cats. Odin doesn't seem to mind being alone to much. I was worried that he would freak out like he did before we had gotten Freya. I guess old age has really mellowed him. I have to admit though as much as I miss the cats its been really nice not to have to clean a litter box.

The garden did strange things this summer. The weather has not been friendly to my plants. We did manage to get a few tomatoes, peppers, and even one melon. Most of the plants grew well until that cold snap and then they just started dying. After to talking to others in the area I found out that everyone's veggies did this. The really strange thing is that the yellow squash that I planted went nuts. I got a huge bumper crop from two little plants. I finally had to just pull the plants and freeze what was left as we are all sick of squash. I really need to start cleaning everything else out so I can get the beds ready for fall.

Its funny how kids pick up on life around them even when you don't think they are. We try to regulate how much TV the kids watch and only let them turn it on during the weekend. They get to watch cartoons in the morning but that is about it. However after cartoons we tend to turn the channels to something that K or I want to watch and the kids play. Usually they don't look like they pay it any mind, but last weekend Butter let on that she is picking up random facts from it. Typically we get scratch tickets after grocery shopping, but here lately we are trying to save our cash for the upcoming vacation so we haven't been doing it. Butter asked if she could push the buttons when we walked past the machine. I told her we weren't going to get any due to we were trying to save money. Her response.. "Oh, so we can pay for car insurance?" Yep she has absorbed the message of the GEICO commercials.

What happened to the last two..err.... three months?

My poor little blog, I bet you feel quite neglected. It has just been a hectic few months around the household. Lets see where to start.

So the surgery went well for my back. It wasn't nearly as evasive as I thought it was going to be. Staying home and not doing anything for two weeks was harder on me that the surgery itself. I really dislike having people do stuff for me, so it was hard to let K's Dad come in a take care of the household chores and the kids. With the uber-strict weight restrictions I could barely get myself dressed without going over the limit. On one hand though it was nice seeing my house so sparkling clean. He is much more of a cleaner than either K or I are, not to say that we don' t clean just not to that affect.

The kids are growing like weeds. In March we celebrated D's 1st Birthday. We had a joint b-day party with my sister's kid since he is only a few days older than D. It was nice having all of the family up for the party. My parents and all of the great-grandparents came up for it. Mr. D had a great time with the cake. He was into it way more than Butter was at 1.

The other reason that we had family in town was Butter had a recital that same weekend. She has now been playing the violin since about August of last year, so this was her big public debut. She did really well, actually she did great. I think my child really like being on stage. She had no problem following directions and she was frighted unlike some of the other kids there. I think that it has more to do with the fact that she hasn't hit that stage yet since she is so young.

At the end of April both of the kids went in for their check ups. They are both growing like weeds. D is now 31 inches and 25lbs and Butter is 37 inches and 32 lbs. I can't believe how much bigger D is that Kira at that age. They really aren't that far apart now even though they are two years apart.

We also had some sadness in the house at the end of April. We lost Freya, our Great Pyrenees. We really aren't that sure what happened since she wasn't sick or really that old (she would have been 5 come December.) My sister came over to get her for us since she could take care of the body and her best guess was that she either ate something that poisoned her or that she may have had her stomach flip. It was really sad for me since she was my dog. K and I talked and we decided that unless Odin goes though anxiety issues again we aren't going to get a new dog for awhile. I think we want to wait until the kids are older and able to help out with the chores.

I think I have an ulcer.

I have decided that there is just way to much stress in my life and something has to go. I think I should be able to do a redo this year.

I'm in the middle of preparing for my surgery that is on Thursday. 3 days left to get my house clean, grocery shop, get stuff ready for the hospital visit, and then whatever else life throws on my lap. Though I don't hink much else could go wrong. (I'm tempting fate aren't I.)

Last week was the big pre-OP appointment. It wasn't too bad. Just a physical, blood draw, and chest x-ray. The issue was the chest x-ray showed a nodule on my left lung. Really do I need more possible bad news right now. So I got the joy of going in for a CT scan to find out what is was. In between the days between the two, Butter got taken to the ER for an ear infection. Yay! You think the kid would give us a little warning that something was going on. A tug on the ear, a fever, something, but no she gets it out of the blue and at a time that the docs office isn't open. Sweet, another ER visit. Anyway, back the the lung. So went in for the scan get told that the doc office should have the results back on Friday. I call on Fri wanting to know what it was, no go. The doc is out and the nurse doesn't feel right looking at the radiologists explanations. Seriously. So she said that my normal nurse would be in later and she would call back. After three calls that afternoon, I gave up. No one called me back. So I got to spend the weekend worring about the damn test. They did call me this morning. Turns out, that it was nothing. Just a flukey thing on the x-ray. I hate that office.

Plays and Doctors

So this past wed was a busy day. I worked for a little bit and then off to all the appointments and such. I went to the neurosurgeon to discuss all my options for my back. Its going to be the surgery route for me. After talking with him I've come to realize just how much I want to be done with everything. I'm tired of hurting, taking drugs, and not being able to pick the munchkins up.I think that the last thing is the hardest, specially for Butter. She's old enough to walk but still young enough to want to be held. Its hard telling her that Mommy can't carry her, and Daddy can't due to holding Mr. D.

Wed was also the first of the shows for the season tickets that my Mom gave me for X-mas. We, Joy and I, saw Spring Awakening. I hadn't look up anything about the show before we went so it was not what I was expecting. It was such a great show. The music was a great mix of traditional musical ballads mix with what we decided sounded a lot like 80's punk. The actors were all wonderful and did such a great job. It was one of the best shows that I've seen in a few years.

Its Wednesday Already

Its been busy around the household the past few days, all in prep for today. The big doctor's appointment is today and I'm really not looking forward to going. Kevin is taking a half day so that he can be with me for it. I'm not really sure if that is a good thing or a not. I do want him to come with me cause I'm scared to death, but I know that if he wasn't there I would be able to hold it together better. Hopefully the doc will give us better news than I'm really expecting and it won't matter.

On the home front Mr. D broke through two new teeth on Monday. Its sad that he will lose the fang look now that the two front teeth are coming in. We want him to have a full set of teeth, but damn he really was cute like that!

Wow

A few months ago, well more like a year ago now that I think about it, I purchase a jigsaw puzzle for Butter. It was made by a German company called Haba and I was extremely impressed at how well made it was. Butter loved it, but a few days after we had it we somehow managed to lose a piece. We kept the puzzle since we still had the original box and kept looking for the piece. We knew that it couldn't have gone far due to where it was lost.

Now here it is months later and we still had the puzzle with the missing piece. I don't know why it didn't dawn on me months ago, but I finally realized that I could contact the company about seeing how or even if we could get a replacement piece. Right before Christmas I sent them an e-mail regarding the puzzle and I even included which piece it was that we were missing. I promptly forgot about it. I was expecting them to e-mail me back with how to get a piece, what it was going to cost, ect. since most companies in this day and age charge for every little thing.

Low and behold when I got home yesterday there was a small box in the mail. Now I love getting boxes in the mail, specially the opening of them So my husband leaves all packages for me to open even his stuff. I looked at the return and couldn't believe it, it was from Haba. Inside was no note, no invoice, nothing but the missing piece wrapped ever so carefully in bubble wrap and then purple tissue paper. I'm still amazed that they just sent it and that it was wrapped so carefully, not just stuffed inside some box. In this day and age to find a company that has such great customer service is just shocking. So if you need some cute children toys, I highly recommend that you check them out.

Just say "ma-ma"

So a while ago Mr. D starting talking. It was the normal baby noises and such. Well now that he is progressing we cannot seem to get him to say Mama. No matter how hard we try he just won't do it. A few nights ago we were giving the kids a bath, and I was trying yet again to get him to say it.

Okay sir say " Ma-ma-ma"

He looks right at me "Dada"

No say Mama

Dada

This goes on for a while until the cat comes in.

Say Mama

kid-dee (His version of kitty. Yes, he recognizes the cat for what it is but nope not poor old Mama.)

I think I may just give up. When Butter was this little we could not get her to say Dada. Heck she still calls for me before she calls for K even now. This bugged K to no end at this stage, but I kept telling him not to worry she would eventually come around and who knows maybe the next kid would like him better. Wow, was I ever right on that one!

Here it is the new year and I'm going to really really try to keep up with this blog. (No, really I am.)

So up first my holiday tale of woe. Here I thought that we were going to have a great holiday season. Butter is old enough now to recognize X-mas and Santa so she was super excited. My parents came down from Ohio for a week or so. We were set for who was hosting what meals and events. It was turning into a great time. Then the Sat before I skidded on a mat. Literately skidded about 6-8 inches. Caught myself on a railing, thanked the gods for not falling in front of a bunch of people and went on my merry way. Sun I woke up to my back just killing me. I figured I had pulled a muscle or 12 took some drugs and waited for Mon. Mon I saw the chiropractor and felt so much better. My back quit hurting so I took it easy and watched what I did. Tues I woke up with pain going down my left leg, but no back pain. Figured that I had inflamed the disc that I screwed up in High School since I was having the same type of pain, so I went to the doc for something stronger than OTC meds as they weren't touching it. He agreed with me and gave me a script for Vicodin, told me to take advil on top for the swelling and to come back if it got worse.

Fast forward to X-mas day. I was hurting so bad that I couldn't get out of bed. I missed seeing Kira go out and see what Santa brought her since I was still in bed. Dad and Kevin came and got me out of bed and to the couch. They wanted to take me to the ER right away, but I said no I was going to watch Butter open gifts and then I would go. (Looking back, I should have gone then since I really don't remember opening gifts due to the pain.) Joy and Tamir came up for the opening of gifts, so Joy volunteered to take me to the ER. Surprisingly for X-mas day the visit was relatively quick, the gave me a shot of Morphine, Valium, and Toradol ( a strong anti-inflammatory,) along with a script for Percocet. since they thought the same thing the doc did.

Sat we had professional pictures scheduled since we had everyone here. Everyone asked me if I wanted to cancel them since I was still feeling really bad. I said no, and put on a brave face and went. Even with me in pain the pictures turned out really great. Halfway through them, I realised that I really needed to go back to the doc as the pain was worse then ever. So Mom took me to the ER this time. It didn't take the docs long to realise just how bad it was, bad enough that they admitted me to the hospital. A MRI was done and they found out that it wasn't the old injury that was causing the issue it was a new one. Turns out that I ruptured the disc below the that one all due to a little skid.

I got to spend 5 days in the hospital hooked up to a morphine drip, I got a cortizone shot on Tues and they send me home on New Years Eve. It was way fun let me tell ya. Thankfully for Kevin my Mom was able to rearrange her schedule so that he had some help with the kids while I was gone. I am so grateful to the family for stepping up and taking care of the kids and house while I was there.

So here I am two weeks later and I still am having issues with my back and leg. I saw my doc this week and he said wait and see what the neurosurgeon says. I get to see him next week. Yay. I know that they are going to do at least one more shot, but I'm really crossing my fingers that this doesn't turn into back surgery.

Oh the joys of children

So this weekend we had a little wedding shower to go to. A good friend of mine is getting married in August and being the great friend that I am, I'm bailing on the wedding to go spend a week at the beach with my family. Originally I was supposed to be in the wedding, but that changed due to Mr. D. Then I was just going to be an attendant, but when I got the invitation I realized that the wedding and my one and only vacation this year were on the same weekend. Really sucky. So we went to the shower where the only people I knew were the soon to be newlyweds and their kid. i don't do well with new people and strange situations, but for her I sucked it up and went.

It was actually kinda of fun. We met some really nice people that have a daughter that's a month younger than Mr. D. They were best friends with the groom. It would be nice if they lived closer so we could get to know them. They were our kind of people.

So we talked and ate and watched Butter and the brides daughter play. Then when most of the people had left we let the kids play in the pool. Well Butter and I played. K stayed with Mr. D and just laughed at us. Yes I actually ventured in the pool, with a swimsuit on and everything. Butter surprised me though. We have gone swimming before and she has always liked it. Both K and I figured that she would enjoy this, specially since her best friend was going in with us. Boy were we wrong. She through a complete fit, and wanted nothing to do with it. But me being the great mom that I am prevailed and she ended up staying in the water and eventually did have a great time. By then end though she was shivering so bad that I made her get out early. She then though another fit. Man I love two year olds.

I vow to do better.

I started this so that I could keep up with my life. Well I guess that things always seem to get the better of me. Its funny how, sometimes, no matter how much you want to do something life gets in the way.

Whats new with me?

Well the new little one , Mr. D, is now three months old. It's amazing how big he is getting and how much he varies from his sister, Butter. At three months she was just starting to sit up on her own. He at three months is starting to stand but not sit. Also we think that he is starting to teeth. Butter teethed started at three months as well, however it took about three more months to get that first tooth to stay. We are so hoping that this isn't going to be the case with Mr. D. I really don't want him to have to go through what she went through.

Also the big news around the house is that Butter is starting to potty train. Well for those of you that know me in the real world, you know that we tried this before and she did great until the new one came. We are back at it though and its going well. This is the second week of "Big Girl Panties" and she only having one to two accidents a day. Usually those are due to us not getting her to the bathroom quick enough, not ones where she goes due to her not paying attention to her needs. It will be so nice to have her out of diapers. My wallet is already starting to sigh with relief.

One the home front we did have some sad news. We had to put down our first kitty, Fuzzy aka McFat. It was so sad but she was getting old and had started to pee on the couch. Now this cat has always peed on random things, usually when her litter box was full. But for the past 6 months she has decided that she doesn't want to use the box and would rather pee on the couch. This was a no go for us and we finally hit a breaking point. She is very missed, but the second cat, Imp, has become much more friendly with us. I think McFat had put her paw down and declare us her territory, so this one never really has been super friendly.

So I did start one...

Man I totally forgot that I had this. It would have been nice of me to remember that I started this a while, well a year ago. Its strange how your life becomes so overwhelmed with other things that you forget that you started stuff. Meh. No big deal. I guess at this point I'll just pick it back up. Maybe even become the good blogger that I wish I was.
